We Can Be Heroes is a socially engaged contemporary art project exploring exchange between artists, cultural organisations and local communities. The project combines artistic research, participatory practice and experimental service design to test how arts-based methods can strengthen agency, community participation and social innovation.

Developed in Latvia, the project also examined how cultural initiatives can contribute to the social, economic and environmental development of a region through collaboration, creative entrepreneurship and locally rooted cultural activity.
